Since 1985, ECA has coordinated a network of 16 Neighborhood Energy Centers (NECs) to prevent utility terminations and bring holistic support to Philadelphia communities, including utility bill assistance, budget counselling, energy conservation education, and connection to services across the city. With increased funding and partnerships, our team has expanded to hosting regular community resource fairs across the city, delivering increased DIY energy conservation workshops, and offering support to homebound Philadelphians.
In 2017, we expanded into Delaware and now support income eligible residents with access to LIHEAP benefits to mitigate energy burden.
